Town and Country Village

Palo Alto

Overview

Completed as the original “town & country” specialty retail shopping center concept in the 1950’s, this superbly located Palo Alto project had fallen into significant disrepair when acquired by Ellis Partners.  Committed to retaining its original character of early western-style architecture with red tile roofs, heavy wood beam and column-supported covered walkways and stately oaks growing throughout, the Ellis team completed a multi-year project renovation while maintaining full operations at the center. The result, including the construction of a new Trader Joe’s building at the back of the site, restored and enhanced the original design, significantly upgraded its appeal to both tenants and customers and restored the project to prominence as a community gathering place. The project now features a high-quality mix of new and legacy tenants with many specialty retailers and innovative restaurants designed to draw from a wide customer base.
