Ellis Partners Announces Acquisition of Mathilda Tech Park in Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale, CA – San Francisco-based Ellis Partners LLC announced today that it has finalized the purchase of the Mathilda Tech Park in Sunnyvale, California. The purchase price was not disclosed. The property consists of two buildings totaling 105,000 square feet and framing a private shared courtyard and green space, one at 755 North Mathilda Avenue and a second at 680 Vaqueros Avenue, on a 5-acre campus.

“We are thrilled to acquire Mathilda Tech Park and add it to our portfolio of Silicon Valley properties,” said Jim Ellis, co-founder and managing principal of Ellis Partners. “We are planning a significant renovation and modernization of the property, including modernized facade, lobbies, and courtyard improvements, to elevate its positioning as the overall market continues its recovery and enters the next growth phase.”

Mathilda Tech Park is in one of the Bay Area’s premier business parks, Peery Park, providing immediate access to Highway 101, Highway 237, downtown Sunnyvale, and Caltrain. Situated at the heart of one of the most innovative regions of the country, the property has a long history of institutional-grade office and R&D tenancy and is immediately adjacent to some of the world’s most recognizable and profitable companies.

“We were attracted to the property’s high-visibility location and strong physical attributes, including 16-foot ground floor clear heights and loading capacity,” said Kevin Bocci, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Ellis Partners. “We would like to thank Edmund Najera and the rest of the capital markets team at Newmark for working with us to consummate this successful transaction.”
